Campbell for 5x5.5 would be a big mistake. Love the guy, but he’s not 5x5.5.

Of course MAF is the headliner. Wondering when the BuzzCrew will acknowledge that he once again FAILED in the playoffs, exactly like a couple of your readers predicted. That wasn't a fluke thing. He's consistently failed. At his age, he is nothing more than a 1B option.

Also funny that suddenly Kuemper is very likely to re-sign in Colorado. I thought Sakic was desperate to replace him?

Holtby? Did anyone in the BuzzCrew watch the Stars at all this year. Because 2 weeks ago Oettinger was described as a 3rd string goalie, Khudobin was described as a clutch playoff goalie, and now Holtby described as having multiple suitors. Totally backwards.

Goalie market ain't great though, not sure what other realistic options the Leafs would have

MAF seems unlikely. Kuemper, maybe. But he's two years older than Campbell and if you signed him for three years he'd be the same age at the end of that deal that Campbell would be after a five year deal.

Outside of those two, the market is.....bad

In that list I see quantity not quality , goaltending is slowly becoming a RB position in hockey with the salary cap.

At least with the Oilers winning a round, Mike Smith's job is safe in Edmonton no matter what else happens. Watch for him to get an extension this summer.

What's the opposite of the /s to indicate I'm not the least bit kidding?

It’s too bad the Wild can’t trade MAF right now to one of the remaining teams. Imagine how deep EDM or COL could go behind that playoff pedigree that MAF brings.

No… we don’t want Lehner we’re rebuilding not adding big contracts of over aging players, Ville Husso sounds great though and makes a lot more sense, Lehner makes sense for New Jersey

No matter what Kuemper does the rest of the playoffs one or both of the 2 dudes here will predict MAF to Colorado. If the Avs win the Cup and Kuemper gets the Conn Smythe they'll predict that Kuemper has priced himself out of Colorado. We'll be reminded of MacK's contract, ignoring that the end of EJ's $6 million contract coincides EXACTLY with the end of MacK's $6.3 million deal and that re-signing MacKinnon is the absolute least of their worries as they'll take every one of those EJ dollars, hand them to MacK and call it done. Or, if Joe Salic is still running the Avs and not Kyle Dubas, they'll get MacK to give up a million of EJ's money and eventually use it to re-sign EJ.*

Conversely, if the Avs lose to STL we'll be told, see they should have gone with the sure thing, Mr Playoff Money himself, that's what they need to do now.

MAF to Colorado is evergreen.

*I don't mean to imply that resigning Kuemper won't be at least a little tricky but it will have nothing to do with MacKinnon (as the two casuals who run this place will immediately jump to) and everything to do with re-signing Nichushkin and Manson and at least meeting Lehkonen's QO.
